Biography

Alan Jenn is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Transportation Systems (ITS) in the Sustainable Transportation Energy Pathways (STEPS) program at the University of California, Davis.  He received his PhD from the department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University and undergraduate degrees in Molecular and Cell Biology, Music, and Energy and Resources from the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on the policy issues in the realm of alternative fuel vehicles such as battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. In particular, he investigates the role of policies in assisting the adoption of new vehicle technologies and infrastructure, as well as the implications of these vehicles on oil use, energy use, and greenhouse gas emissions in the US.
