Electronic yellow pages (Electronic Pages) are proposed as a part of establishing information systems for an Intelligent Vehicle Highway System (IVHS) program. The basic requirement for trip planning is an information system which has a list of all available facilities (Yellow Pages). Usually the requirement for Yellow Pages is greater in nonwork trips compared to work trips. Present computerized systems are static databases of facilities, and interfaces to these types of systems are complicated with many restrictions. Additionally, the information provided by these systems does not fulfil user needs.
