A "SuperCar" is an automobile which has performance equal to or better than conventional cars, and has fuel efficiency three times better at 2.3 to 2.9 l/100km (80-100 mpg) for a mid size vehicle and 1.6 to 2.0 l/100km (120-150 mpg) for a compact vehicle at 100 km/hr on gasoline. In addition, it should have ZEV capability in the city as well as be able to meet or exceed all safety requirements. Design concepts which can achieve these goals are presented and discussed. An example vehicle with measured performance figures is presented.
